Responsible for research and drafting of pleadings, motions, affidavits, legal briefs (including summary judgment and appellate briefs) and pretrial submissions (including pretrial statements, motions in limine and jury instructions); also responsible for discovery requests and responses, taking and defending depositions, preparation of expert reports and witness testimony, and conduct of court hearings (including discovery, evidentiary, summary judgment, appellate and Markman hearings) and trial
Involved in prosecution of several U.S. and related foreign patent applications in all areas of electrical/electronics, mechanical and computer technology; including computer architecture, communications, networking and programming inventions as well as "business methods" and internet-related hardware and software patents
Also involved in trademark application prosecution and appeal proceedings
Responsible for application preparation and filing, responses to USPTO, PCT and foreign office actions, appeal and reexamination proceedings; also responsible for communication/negotiation with examiners (including examiner/inventor interviews) and oversight/collaboration with foreign associates
Also responsible for drafting and/or negotiating patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret licensing, assignment and nondisclosure agreements and employee noncompete agreements, along with software development, maintenance, licensing and website hosting agreements
